Summer Denby, LCSW
Summer Denby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a Mental Health specialization from Southern Connecticut State University in 2003 and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Springfield College in 2011.
Summer has worked in the Human Services field for over 21 years, supporting adults and families across various treatment settings, including outpatient, in-home, inpatient, residential, telehealth, and group home environments. She has worked for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in multiple disciplines for over a decade, and has administrative experience with the Department of Social Services: Child Welfare for the state of Maryland.
Summer has extensive experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, and persistent mental health disorders. She uses strengths-based modalities, including CBT, DBT, exposure therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
Summer believes that every person is resilient and the CEO of their own life, meaning clients can and should set their own goals. She describes herself as trustworthy, humorous, patient, and empathetic, and enjoys incorporating music, poetry, laughter, and the freedom to be authentic into her sessions. She highly values therapeutic rapport and feels it is a privilege to be trusted by her clients.
